據《洛杉磯時報》報導，湖人球星奈許（Steve Nash）召開退休記者會，正式宣佈結束NBA生涯。
「首先我要感謝巴斯家族以及整個湖人隊，」奈許說：「這是發自內心的感謝。」
自2012-13賽季開始，奈許加盟湖人3個賽季，飽受傷病困擾，他只打了65場季賽，「傷病是我職業生涯中最難纏的對手，我一直與它們鬥爭。」
本賽季報銷，奈許不得不選擇退休，「本賽季的每一天，我都努力讓自己完成康復，但很遺憾，我最終沒能完成這個目標，退休是我自己能想到最好的辦法。」
奈許19年職業生涯出賽1217場季賽，平均上場31.3分鐘、得14.3分8.5次助攻和3個籃板。
「能夠成為湖人球員，為紫金軍團效力是一段很特殊的經歷，」奈許說：「我會把這裡當成家，今後我和我的孩子會留在洛杉磯。」
談到本身的成就時奈許自謙地說：「我不是這個聯盟中的傳奇，當我聽到別人說起我對球隊的貢獻和改變比賽時，我感到受寵若驚。」
「我的職業生涯中沒有奪得過一次總冠軍，」奈許接著說：「這是我職業生涯中的最大遺憾，我感到很失望，不過我還是在聯盟中留下了一些東西。」
奈許表示會在今年夏天幫助湖人隊招募自由球員。
